Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics were one of the main inspirations for me to attempt drawing more seriously in that genre. This is a short story featuring one of his most beloved characters, Death. The idea for this happened in music history class when the professor stated that composer Gustav Mahler had a close relationship with death, based on his history and the content of his music. From there, a text version of this story came very quickly, and the illustrations followed a year thereafter. Read on... |
