This book presents each movement of Mahler's masterpiece in a different artistic style, inspired by both the specific imagery of the texts and by the scenes created by Mahler's brilliant melodies, counterpoint, and orchestral tone color.

This is the first installment in an ongoing project in which Lozos aims to illustrate as many of Mahler's lieder as possible.
